The BIO-Asia and ICT-Asia regional programmes are a French initiative directed at Asia in order to strengthen, on the basis of mutual benefits, high-level scientific cooperation with and among emerging and developed Asian countries in the fields of natural substances studies and their applications and of information and communication technology (ICT) respectively. It funds, upon selection through an annual call for proposals, mobility costs of research projects involving at least 3 research units of France and Asia.
It supports projects involving France and the member countries of the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN : Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam), as well as East Timor, China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
