The Chinese authorities and the World Health Organization (WHO) have confirmed the identification of a new virus (coronavirus nCoV). Several cases have been reported in China. Imported cases have been reported in other countries.
During your stay in Asia :
- keep informed of the situation by consulting the Last Minute Travel Report of the country concerned, regularly consult the pages of : the WHO and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) :
https://www.who.int/health-topics/coronavirus
https://www.ecdc.europa.eu/en/novel-coronavirus-china
The website of the French embassy in China informs about the evolution of local sanitary provisions :

- follow the prevention recommendations of the local authorities ;
- avoid contact with dead animals and animal markets ;
- Avoid close contact with people with fever and cough ;
- avoid eating raw or undercooked meat ; cook eggs thoroughly ;
- wash your hands with soap or hydro-alcoholic solutions ;
- Regularly clean and disinfect surfaces such as door handles, light switches, railings or toys.

If you experience symptoms of respiratory infection (fever, cough, difficulty breathing), report promptly to the health authorities and follow their instructions carefully, wear a surgical mask in case of contact with other people, use disposable tissues and wash your hands regularly.
In France, if you are likely to have been contaminated, you must report yourself by telephone to the SAMU, remain confined to your home to avoid any possible spread and strictly follow the instructions of the SAMU.

For more information and recommendations, see the "coronavirus" fact sheet on the MEAE website :

https://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/fr/conseils-aux-voyageurs/informations-pratiques/risques/risques-sanitaires/article/coronavirus

As some countries may issue instructions for people arriving from the infected area or not on their territory, all travellers are asked to check on the Ariane site of the MEAE of that country if instructions have not been issued by the authorities of that country.
