QuEST School 2018 “Quantum Technologies with Light” - Singapore - January 8-13, 2018

It aims at initiating a series of Symposia and Schools that will be held on alternate years in different countries, with themes each time chosen by the scientific committee, within the subject of Quantum Engineering Science and Technologies. The QuEST School is dedicated to welcoming graduate students to lectures by experts on a variety of topics in line with a chosen theme.

QuEST School 2018 will focus on the theme of "Quantum Technologies with Light" and will be held in Singapore on January 8-13, 2018.

Airfare will be subsidised and accommodations will be provided.

Program

QuEST School will cover 6 topics within the theme "Quantum Technologies with Light", with about 6-7 hours of lecture time per topic.

The covered topics will be :
- Chiral Quantum Optics (A. Rauschenbeutel)
- Integrated Photonics (F. Sciarrino)
- NV centers (J.-F. Roch)
- Optomechanics (F. Marquardt)
- Polaritonics (T. Liew)
- Quantum Communication with Light (A. Ling and C. Lim)

Abstracts

The abstracts for each lecture will be provided later.

Venue

The School will take place on the campus of NTU, at the Nanyang Executice Center (NEC), 60 Nanyang View, Singapore 639673.

The lectures will be given in Lecture Room 5.

The accommodations will be provided within NEC.

Application

QuEST School 2018 aims at welcoming about 40 Graduate students, particularly those in their early PhD programme, to attend lectures given by leading experts in light-based quantum technologies.
